I’m an Iyengar teacher living in South London, Brixton. I’ve been practicing since the early 1990’s and am a fully qualified Intermediate level teacher. I am passionate about the artistry of Iyengar yoga and have trained and continue to be inspired by Senior teachers in this country ( Alaric Newcombe) and regular visits to the Institute in Pune ( RIMYI ), India, having studied with BKS Iyengar, Geetaji, Prashant and Abhijata Iyengar. I love the creativity, dynamism, stability of this holistic practice and aim to teach classes with care, a keen eye and a sense of fun. I have an interest in pranayama and have been working with my teacher for years developing my practice and knowledge. I also work as a professional actor on stage and screen.
What People Say
“Celia is by far the best teacher I have ever had. I have been to her classes for over four years now and have learnt so much from her. She is passionate, funny, focused and immensely knowledgeable about Iyengar yoga. Her way of describing elements of the body that we work on is great- there’s so much learning and refining. Before her I didn’t know what Iyengar yoga was and now I couldn’t live without it/ her classes! Also her retreats are the best! ” Eugenie S
“I have been going to Celia’s yoga classes for a number of years and can feel how the regular practice supports not only my physical flexibility, but also my emotional and mental wellbeing. Celia is an experienced and sensitive teacher. I really value the way Celia creates an atmosphere of calm focus in her classes. She teaches with poise and gentle rigour. I appreciate her encouragement to attend to the delicate details of the poses, including opportunity to explore the subtitles of pranayama. I experience Celia’s classes as promoting both a physical and mindful health. ” Urve O

Celia is very experienced and has shown great skill in adapting her sessions to fit with our varying ailments (we are both in our 60s with arthritis and one of us is an ostimist!).Sessions are always fun but also challenging and Celia has helped us to develop our skills and postures She has held private classes in our home and on zoom, and has been so supportive of us.” Karen and Anne
